The 24" scale is such a breeze to play for smaller hands, and a whole lotta fun for anyone else. The Junior Collection is about 6% smaller than a standard Strat. The Junior boasts some modern features like a belly cut, a chambered body, and the newly designed Junior Collection Modified Single Coil Stratocaster pickups with staggered poles. The smart fellas at Fender didn't stop there, they finished it off with the mint green pickguard, vintage tremolo with stamped steel saddles, and a vintage custom color give it authenticity and street cred. Unlike the Mini Series before them, the Junior Collection doesn't suffer from the playability issues plagued by an ultra short 22" scale. 24" in seems to be the perfect length to balance playability, tone, and cool low tension factor. 2 1/2 step bends? No problem. You'll get lost in Boomer Bend Land.
You get the familiar 5-way pickup selector, 9.5" radius luxurious dark rosewood fretboard with 22 vintage narrow tall frets, and the 42 mm wide nut for ultimate playability. Now let's take a close look at that fretboard. We're always impressed with the thick, rich, dark slabs of Rosewood on Japanese Fenders and this one is a Doozy. The Vintage style spaghetti logo rounds out the vintage vibe. And of course it has all the case candy and the original case like you'd expect from a new guitar. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. No disappointments.
