Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to bring you a sweet 1954 Fender Stratocaster Reissue from Fender Japan's equivalent of the Custom Shop at Fujigen. These top tier Fender Japan offerings are the best of the best. Once called the EXTRAD series, the nomenclature changed to Custom Order right around the time Fender USA's Custom Shop was getting up and running. Premium select woods, USA Pickups, Lacquer finish, vintage correct body contours, true "V" neck carve, and headstock "scoop." It's as close as you're going to get to a 54 for under $5k. And it's already 31 years old.
1.68" nut, .90"-.99" neck depth on a true V carve that fits the hand like a glove. The neck is straight, the truss rod works, and the frets have most of their life in front of them. It's got the vintage style High mass block, stamped saddles, and the vintage Kluson style tuners. The USA Vintage Black Bobbin pickups read 6.5 ohms at the neck,6.6 in the middle, and 6.7 at the bridge. The tone is decidely early Fender single coil with that characteristic chime and mix cutting full mids. 8.8 lbs. Comes safely packed in the OHSC in the photos.
