Northwest Vintage Guitars brings you a player grade 1965 Gibson Melody Maker 2 Pickup with the Curtis Novak MM90 Pickups. It has nearly 60 years of weather checking and ligitimate relicing. It's a one piece slab Mahogany body and a one piece neck that are incredibly resonant and light. A great little player with a killer neck profile.
She weighs in at only 6.0 lbs. There are 70's Les Pauls that weigh almost twice that! The nut measures 1.52" and the neck depth is .85"-1.00" on a super comfy D carve that feels more like a 59/60 profile rather than a 60's profile. The frets are in good shape with minor divots in the cowboy chord area as pictured and good fret height. The truss rod works as it should and is easily adjustable in both directions. The photos show the truss rod cavity and nut.
She suffered a headstock break at some point and it was repaired very well with a tight joint that has been rock solid for a long time. Tuners and pickups are not original. All original pots date to mid-late 1965. The knobs appear to be original. Comes safely packed in the hard case in the photos.
