Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a great sounding and playing Yamaki F150 from 1970.  These Japanese gems feature a solid Select Spruce top, Semi Solid Rosewood back and sides, a solid Mahogany neck, Ebony bridge, and a bound Rosewood fretboard with Abalone inays.  Yamaki was considered to be one of the top Gakkis in Japan during the 70's and this X-braced dread is a great example of their work.

Semi Solid plates are made from laminating two pieces of tonewood with the graing in the same direction.  The result is an all-tonewood plate with tonal qualities far better than 3 ply and some say just as good as solid.  It's pretty darned good.

The nut measures 1.70", neck depth is .88"-1.04" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  It's a vintage feeling V carve that fits the hand like a glove.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.   Action is at 2.6mm on the low E and 1.7mm on the high E, approx 2.5mm saddle height with ample breakover angle.  The C designation includes banjo tuners - one of the originals has been replaced as pictured.

There are scattered dings, scratches, and dents as pictured.  The truss rod nut has been replaced as pictured.  It remains in great playable condition.  As is common for this time period, the clouding is under the poly finish - consult a refinish expert is you are curious about remedies.
