.95-1.01, 1.74, 25" scale
Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a super clean Yamaha FG401 from 1971 and featuring Coral Rosewood back and sides and a Solid Spruce top. These were the top of the line Yamaha orange label at the time. Yamaha's unwavering commitment to quality has gained them a reputation as "The Gibson of Japan." This beauty has a one piece Nato neck, Mahogany headstock overlay, a dark Rosewood bridge and a rarer spec dark Bubinga fretboard.
The nut measures 1.74", neck depth is .95-1.01" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a pronounced soft V neck that feels very vintage and from a time long ago. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are very few scratches, small dings, and tiny dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. The saddle has been shaved and the bridge notched to improve breakover and offer excellent action at 2.5 mm on the low E and 2.0 mm on the high E. 25" scale, approximately 14 inch radius.
Comes safely packed in the original hard shell case with all working latches and hinges and includes a truss rod wrench.
