Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a mojo soaked 1972 Yamaha FG-160 with a groovy vintage yellow plush lined Yamaha hard case. These fantastic flat tops have gained a cult following for a good reason, they sound great, project well and possess excellent warmth and clarity. It has a Laminated Spruce top, palisander Rosewood back, sides, bridge and fretboard. The neck is African Mahogany. Someone replaced the original tuners with some vintage Star tuners that fit the part well.
The nut measures 1.75", neck depth is .93"-1.03" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a full C carve that feels great in the hand. Freshly strung with D'Adarrio Bronze 12-53 strings. Action is medium high but very playable at 2.75mm -1.8mm. We re-glued the neck block, cleaned and conditioned the fretboard, and polished the frets. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.
