Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a well loved and road worn 1973 Fender Jazz Bass that once belonged to a professional Bassist in the Pacific Northwest. She has seen plenty of gigs and road trips in her day. It was gigged regularly for over 40 years starting in the 70's. It's seen it's share of smoky bars, vans, and cruise ships. A pair of vintage Patent Pending Bartolini pickups were added in the 70's, the wiring modified, and the output jack moved to the side. Practical stuff that made sense. You get an ON/OFF for each pickup and a phase or split. There is a Badass II Bridge and brass nut included. We set it up with a Fender nut and the stock bridge. The bridge cover in the photos is included. All the wear and relic is natural. Better than a Custom Shop.
The nut measures 1.51" , neck depth is .87"-1.01" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a 70's C profile that almost feels like a U at the first position. She has had multiple re-frets through the decades and the fretboard is void of any finish. We gave her a deep cleaning, fret level, crown and polish and it plays great. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. 34" Scale, 9.5" Radius, 9.47 lbs. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Comes safely packed in an 80's Jazz Bass case in the photos with one latch missing and corners blown out.
