Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a clean 1982 Dan Smith 4 Bolt Stratocaster. Dan Smith was tasked with redesigning the Stratocaster after the 70's left Fender with a poorer reputation that it began. Dan heard from dealers that quality control needed to be increased, tolerances fine tuned, and the vintage specs that made the Strat great should return. Enter the return of the 4 Bolt neck plate, tighter tolerances, and a return to vintage tone. You get a solid Alder body, a maple neck, and the familiar 1V, 2T, 5-way SSS setup.
The nut measures 1.68", neck depth is .81"-.86" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a slim C profile that's very accessible. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There is good fret height and little wear to be seen on the freshly polished frets. New nickel 10 Slinkys are perfectly intonated.
There are scattered scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition. Tremolo arm is non-original. 7.96 lbs, comes safely packed in the OHSC in the photos.
