NW Vintage guitars brings you an uncommon find from 1982.  Tokai called this their "TSG50 1976 Refined Model" and it's easy to see why.  It looks and feels just like a 76 Gibson SG and Tokai wasn't hiding that. And the Solid Mahogany body and one piece Mahogany neck were better specs than Gibson was cranking out at the time.  They even threw in a volute and the SMALL open book headstock to round out the package.

The solid Mahogany neck is straight with no wonkiness and the truss rod works as it should with plenty of adjustment left.  The frets are in good shape with decent crown and no dead spots or divots.  The nut measures 1.69" and first fret depth is .86" and it grows to .95" on a Medium C carve that feels great in the hand.  Much like a Norlin carve of the time.  She's wearing a set of Thomasik Dominant Nickel strings with low action and great playability.

The Pickups are Hot at 18.56 ohms at the bridge and 18.28 at the neck position.  They are very responsive and almost compressed with great attack and a mid presence with searing but warmer highs.  Think of Seymour Duncan Super Distortions of the day.  All the electronics are original and in perfect working order.

She tips the scales at only 6.58 lbs!  Well balanced and resonant to boot.  There's a missing capture nut on the low E saddle intonation, but the main intonation screw is still there and everything stays in place.  Comes safely packed in the case in the photos.
