Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare and clean 1989 Epiphone Flying V Heavy Metal model from the Peerless factory in Korea. These are hard to find, high quality versions of the venerable Flying V. It features a Select hardwood body that looks like Maple to us, a set maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. The Vantage I-series humbuckers read 8.31k ohms at the neck and 8.33k at the bridge. It's all controlled by 1 Volume, 1 Tone, and a 3 way toggle switch. It includes the original Floyd Rose Licensed trem system that loads from the back with the ball end on the string and a locking block behind the nut. Comes packed in the later Epiphone hard case in the photos.
The nut measures 1.66", neck depth is .81"-.93" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a nicely tapered C profile that most folks will find agreeable. 24.75" scale, 12" radius, 8.55 lbs. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with D'Adarrio 10-46 XL nickel strings. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few weather checks as pictured but very clean with no big dings or dents. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. There is a strap pin hole on the lower wing and no trem arm as pictured.
