Northwest Vintage Guitars brings you an Orville by Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty in 100% original condition. The Orville by Gibson brand was a partnership with Yamano Gakki and this beauty was crafted in the famed Terada factory exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and very few made it to the states. It's a faithful recreation of a 50's Les Paul Custom with the gold hardware, 5 layer binding front and back, PAF style pickups, a solid mahogany body, and a one piece mahogany neck. The ABR-1 style bridge has the keeper wire and the front pickup ring is 50's spec height.
The PAF pickups deliver that vintage tone with a bright and responsive bridge pickup that really shines on overdrive. the neck pickup gives that signature slightly scooped mid with articulate, warm highs and woody lows. The Neck pickup reads 7.12 ohms and the bridge comes in at 7.21 ohms.
The nut measures 1.695" and the 1st fret depth is .84" growing to .95" at the 12th. It's a very manageable medium C profile with decent shoulders. Very comfy and not a 50's baseball bat. The frets are in great shape with only minor fret wear as pictured and no divots or dead spots. She weighs 9.6 lbs. It plays cleanly up and down the neck with no issues.
