Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to present a reverse headstock Jackson/Charvel DK-065RB-HH with added EMG 81 pickups front and rear. These are based on the Model 3 Platform and feature a fantastic no nonsense Super Strat that's built to keep thing simple and locked down. It features a Solid Basswood Body, Rock Maple neck, and the reverse headstock. This one features a pair of passive EMG 81 pickups and they really deliver. Everything from scooped and compressed crunch to clear warm breakup and cleans. Really a nice and simple setup with 1V, 1T and a 3-way toggle.
The locking nut measures 43mm, .77" at the 1st fret, .84" at the 12th on a thin modified D shape with a notable flat center and moderate shoulders. The Jumbo frets are .112" wide and have about 80% fret life left on a fresh polish. The truss rod works as it should and turns in both directions. This guitar is set up properly with low action, intonated, and electronics cleaned. It plays very nicely and cleanly up and down the fretboard with no dead spots. The period correct non original FR has been disassembled, cleaned and lubricated to ensure proper operation and long life.
EMG pickups are used by so many greats like the boys in Metallica and Slayer, but also by the likes of David Gilmour and Steve Lukather proving their versatility and quality. They both read in the 17.6 ohms range and as mentioned before they can scream and they can sing. Very versatile. She comes with her share of bumps and bruises, but she wears them well. The locking nut, Floyd Rose, and one pot are non-original. There's a neck pocket crack on only the Bass side in the photos that is solid as a rock. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the new padded Cayahuya gig bag in the photos.
