Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to present a Gibson Licensed Orville 62 SG Reissue model SG-65 in dark, rich Heritage Cherry finish. The Oriville line started with a partnership between Yamano Gakki and Gibson. They joined forces and enlisted the help of Fujigen to create some of the best Les Pauls to not come from Kalamazoo, Memphis, or Nashville. And at half the price. Take this Orville SG-65 for example - Accurate PAF pickups adorn the most iconic Vintage Cherry small guard and vintage appointments abound. It's a great package at only 6.1 lbs.
These faithful reissues feature PAF accurate Orville pickups that read in the mid 7's and do everything the PAFs did. A long neck tenon, vintage accurate routes, and a dark and luxurious rosewood 12" radius fretboard keep to the 62 reissue theme. Gibson did make the headstock a little larger to differentiate it from their American counterparts. It's an Oval C neck profile that's thin and fast. The nut measures 1.71" and the neck depth is a svelte .80"-.88" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. The truss rod turns in both directions and functions properly, the neck is straight and the frets are in great shape. She has a new set of pearloid fretmarkers that are a vast improvement over the originals. The shimmery 3D markers look very vintage. The bridge has some replaced saddles. There is a finish fill on the neck as pictured that can be seen but not easily felt. She's perfectly intonated on a fresh set of USA Nickel 10-46 strings with polished frets. It all comes safely packed in the hardshell case in the photos.
