Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a near mint Fender Vintage Collection '75 Jazz Bass Reissue JB75-90US from the earlier run of 1999-2002 - NOT the later Traditional 70's run. It has an "R" prefix serial and "Made in Japan" right on the face of the headstock just like in 1975, AND says "Crafted in Japan" on the heel of the neck. It's 100% stock and 100% cool. Featuring a Lightweight Figured Ash body, a Canadian Maple Neck, and the USA Vintage Series Jazz Bass pickups that Fender used in their AVRI line at the time. And they don't disappoint. These are extremely rare in the to find as they were very expensive when new, never intended for sale in the US market, were produced in small numbers, and only lasted a few years. They first appear in the 1999 catalog and by 2002 they are gone.
The nut measures 1.53", neck depth is .85"-.97" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's Fender Japan's Oval C profile that most folks find very agreeable. 34" scale, 9.5" radius, 9.9 lbs. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. It presents as "Demo/Open Box" and is considered collector grade. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.
