Northwest Vintage Guitars is stoked to bring you one of the coolest basses coming from Fender Japan today - The OG Fender Traditional Original 50's P Bass in Butterscotch and all the vintage appointments. These are an amazing and faithful rendition of an American classic. And this one is only 8.4 pounds.
The Made in Japan Traditional series is a fusion of Fender's traditional instrument-making aesthetics and Japan's sophisticated craftsmanship. Fender's authentic DNA is revived with solid Made in Japan quality.
The Made in Japan Traditional Original 50s Precision Bass® features a gloss-finished basswood body. The 9.5-inch radius "U"-shaped maple neck with 20 vintage-style frets provides the classical playability unique to the Traditional series. The two-saddle vintage Precision Bass bridge and the original pickups selected for the Traditional series produce a realistic and musical vintage tone. This series reflects solid guitar craftsmanship and a flexible response to the needs of players.
The nut measures 1.68", fret depth is .87"-.95" on a moderate U profile - not huge and defintely not a baseball bat. These are made for the Japanese markets so the neck profiles aren't thick, but they aren't thin either. Rather nice to be honest. Reminds us of a 70's profile. The plastic is still on the pickguard and tuner paddles. This was sourced brand new B-stock in Japan and presents as Excellent condition. Comes safely packed in the gig bag in the photos.
