Northewest Vintage Guitars is proud to present a very rare Gibson Melody Maker Special with 2 P90 pickups in excellent condition. There was a time when Gibson executives played mix and match with the models specs to come up with some unique combinations. They had the "Classic Custom," the "Junior Special," and many more. This one is one of our favorites with Gibson P90s in a thin, lightweight body wieghing in at only 6.5 pounds. This one has a Tone Pros intonatable wrap tailpiece as it's only mod.
The necks on these are one piece mahogany with a roasted Maple fretboard and 22 frets. The neck profile is a medium C with a bit of taper and fading shoulders. The nut is 1.69", neck depth is .85"-.95", the truss rod works as it should and is currently adjusted for optimum playability. There is no wonkiness to the neck and no dead spots on very clean frets with no divots and no dead spots. Comes safely packed in the Gator hard case in the photos. No disappointments.
