Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to present this stunning 53 year old Aria Pro II LS-600G in all original condition. And to find one in this condition in the rarest color is a special day. The Gold is a very unique hue with metal flake sparkle that has a subtle glimmer as the light hits it. And the top is near perfect. Not a dent in it.
The specs feature all the right vintage stuff - 24 3/4" scale, 1 11/16" nut, and bridge posts directly into the top. Then we see the Volute and it hits us...this is right in the middle of the Gibson/Norlin Era. The Pancake body, DiMarzio Super Distortions, and the big bold knobs remind us of the good 'ol days. It's a delightful mashup of time tested specs and Disco era appointments. We love it. It's 9.05 lbs, .81"at the 1st fret, .95" at the 12th on a very Norlin Medium C carve. The Early version Seymour Duncan Super Distortions read 14.3 Bridge, 13.2 Neck. The fretboard is a luxurious freshly conditioned and hand polished dark Rosewood. The frets exhibit very little wear, no divots, and excellent crown. They don't appear to have ever been leveled.
The vintage DiMarzio Super Distortions really shine especially in the neck position. Great vintage tones with lots of open, woody overtones that sets this apart from its Greco and Aria brethren of the time. And if you aren't familiar with the Super Distortion pickup sound, just look at the list of legendary axe slingers that rocked the SD's - Al Di meola, Kurt Cobain, Dimebag Darrell, Ace Frehley, Paul Gilbert..... We could go on and on. You get it, seriously respected tone with a wide tonal pallet able to pull off everything from prog rock jazz to searing heavy metal. One of the greatest pickups ever made. And they suit this guitar right down to the ground.
Of course we gave it a good rundown and found that the truss rod works as it should and the relief has been optimally adjusted. Theres a replaced intonation screw. A fresh set of nickel tens, perfect intonation and now she's ready to rock. No disappointments.
