Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a clean blast from the past in this 1993 Charvel CDS-55 Superstrat Made in Japan exclusively for the Japanese Domestic market. We don't see a lot of these affordable shredders. This unique Charvel features a unique headstock shape and the C100/C100/C-90 HSS pickup arrangement. The sweet sounding bridge C-90 reads 8.4k ohms and the single coils come in at 5.7k ohms. Everything from PAF type tones to sweet Stat sounds. This one is a very unique Gunmetal Blue type color. We don't know if that's the actual name of the color, but that's what were calling it.
The nut measures 1.66", neck depth is .76"-.83" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's an early Charvel thin C profile from the 80's and it rocks. 25.5" scale, 16" radius, 7.78 lbs. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with Ernie Ball 10-46 nickel strings and professionally set up with low 1.6mm and 1.3mm action. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches, dings, and color fills as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the gig bag in the photos.
