Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to bring you a Superstrat blast from the past in the form of a 1989 Charvel Model 3 SSH with an upgraded TRS-101 Trem system. These Superstrats were expertly crafted in the Chu Shin factory in Japan with a Basswood body and Rock Maple bolt on neck. This model received a thick and luxurious Indian Rosewood slab fretboard.
The nut is 42 mm, 1st fret depth is .74" and grows to .85" the the 12th fret on a pure super slim C Shredder carve. Easy to play with low action and no buzzing or dead spots. The factory J100S Jackson pickups are in the middle and neck positions, the much vaunted J90C at the bridge. It's a passive system and they are hot. 12.06 ohms neck, 12.32 ohms middle, and 16.84 ohms at the bridge. Very expressive, great overdirven tone right out of the box. 1V, 1T, and a 5-way switch.
It's got plenty of life left in the jumbo frets that wear their factory dressing. Most the wear is what we call "bedroom relic," polishing marks, nicks on the back, and other wear as pictured. The trem system has been upgraded to a new Takeuchi TRS-101 and is a much better FR than the stock unit. There's a repair to the bass side of the headstock that is solid and poses no issues. She comes safely packed in the gig bag in the photos.
