Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a clean 1997 Epiphone Riviera Reissue with a factory Bigsby Vibrato and killer humbuckers. It was crafted in the respected Peerless factory in Korea Epiphone moved their MIJ production to Korea in the late 80's and didn't miss a beat. These Peerless Epiphones are some of the best values on the vintage market today. They are far better than the current Chinese production and they give the MIJ and USA products a run for their money. These feature a Maple top, back and sides paired with a Mahogany neck with a bound Rosewood fretboard. You get the fancy parallelogram fretboard inlays and 22 frets with barely any wear at all. And this model is a very rare variant featuring the Epiphone branded Vibrato tailpiece. A scarce piece of kit.
The nut measures 1.62", neck depth is .82"-.90" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a medium C profile that's easy to get around on and very accessible. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches, dings, dents, and finish fills as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Fresh flatwounds are perfectly intonated, the fretboard is clean, and the frets have our standard polish. 9.1 lbs. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the original hardshell case in the photos.
