Northwest Vintage Guitars brings you a one of a kind Warlock style neck through bass from the ESP Luthier's program in Japan. Yumiko was the builder and she built a heck of a bass. She started with a Maple neck through, Mahogany body and all high grade components like Gotoh tuners and a high mass bridge.
The ESP Luthier's school is staffed with master luthiers and builders who teach and train the next generation of luthiers in Japan. As with most luthier's schools there is a student build they complete to showcase their skill. At ESP, they have a choice of 100's of body styles to choose from, and one student chose this body. The paint is on the thinner side, not dipped in poly. It's covered completely with paint so we can't see the wood, but the paint enough to see some grain and seams. It looks like a neck through center and Mahogany wings on either side. It sounds great and rumbles in your hands.
This beauty has a 1.54" nut, measures .92" deep at the 1st fret, .98" at the 12th on a C carve. Nice low action and intonated. The pickups are your P/J configuration on a V,V,T setup. The Bridge measures 7.4 ohms, the neck is at 9.58 ohms. There's a lot of versatility in these pickups and we're glad Yumiko didn't select uber hot or active pickups. These fit the bill perfectly. She has a few bumps and bruises, but she wears them well. No case available or included.
