Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a killer 1985 A Serial Fender 1962 Telecaster Custom Reissue with Lambertone Blondie pickups. This is our tech, Drew Brereton's Tele and he has it set up to play and sound amazing. Drew plays with no less than 8 bands at a time and he's very busy. The Tele has been used a few times on stage and selectively in the studio. As the story goes, he has his eyes on a Custom Shop Tele so this one gets a new home. The A Serial number stamped on the bridge plate and the bold 'MADE IN JAPAN" logo on the back of the neck dates this to 1985 and made by Fujigen. It's got a great set of Lambertone pickups and it includes the original pickups as well. The saddles are brass compensated to help dial in perfect intonation. If you're serious about a vintage MIJ Tele, this is the one you want.
The nut measures 1.66", neck depth is .82"-.91" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a very accessible oval C profile not too far from an actual 62 - a bit less shoulder. 25.5" Scale, 7.25" radius, 8.0 lbs. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. We love the swirling wood grain above the control plate and the flame patch above bridge on the Basswood Body. The dark slab Rosewood board has 21 Vintage spec narrow tall frets that measure .080" wide and have a long life left ahead of them. There is some wear under the b string, but nothing that warrants a level and dress at this time. There are a few scratches, dings, buckle rash and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.
