It's an extremely rare Fender Japan FSR that was sold only in Japan through select retailers and not exported to the USA. This example was sourced from one of the select retail outlets in Tokyo. All the same Hybrid II line specs with a rare and perfectly executed classic custom color. And it's so new that it still has the protecto plastic film on the pickguard, the tuner paddles, and the pickups! And of course you get the docs and the tools all packed nicely in the original Fender Gig Bag. It's a nice light and well-balanced piece of kit at only 8.7 lbs.
You get a solid Alder body, a flatsawn Canadian Maple neck, 21 Vintage Tall frets, Vintage style barrel saddles, and wide based paddle tuners. The electronics consist of CTS Pots (V,T), Orange drop tone cap, and the Special Voiced Hybrid II split coil pickup. Thumpy and smooth.
The nut measures 1.66", neck depth is .83"-1.00" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's the Modern C profile with a satin finish that everyone loves. 34" Scale, 9.5" Radius, 8.7 lbs. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. It presents, plays, feels, and smells like new. Because it is new.
