Northwest Vintage Guitars proudly presents a, 02-04 Fender Japan 1962 Precision Bass Vintage Series PB-62 reissue in very rare Lake Placid Blue. It's even faded a little and "greened" up a bit for a killer vintage patina. Fender made this model for the Japan Domestic market and not a lot of custom colors got out of the country. It's a Basswood body, Maple neck, and a Rosewood fretboard with 20 vintage spec narrow tall frets. What a great setup with the MIJ PB-Vintage Single Coil pickup and one Volume and one Tone to shape the expansive lows, punchy mids, and warm highs. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
The nut measures 1.70", neck depth is .84"-.95" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a very familiar and comfortable Oval C Profile on a 7.25" radius and a 34" scale. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. Everything works as it should and it plays cleanly up and down the fretboard with low action and accurate intonation. The saddles are replacements. The fretboard has been cleaned and conditioned and the frets are polished. Comes safely packed in the gig bag in the photos. 8.9 lbs.
There are scattered scuff, scraped and bumps as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with very little fret wear. Strings look like D'Adarrio XL Nickel round 45-105.
