Northwest Vintage Guitars brings you a clean 1985 Fernandes PJR-45 Limited Edition Precision/Jazz bass in great shape and almost no play wear. Fernandes was riding high in the mid eighties as their instruments were widely used in the Rock/Metal arena. They had signature guitars and basses for a number of Japanese Rock stars and quite a few international players as well. Craig Goldy, Brad Gillis, Dick Kemper, Adrian Vandenberg, Jack Blades, Jeff Watson, and Robert Fripp were notable Fernandes Artists. They had catchy product names like "Head Crasher" and "Dog Fighter." And this PJR-45 was a Limited Edition with a solid Alder Body, Maple Neck, and dark Rosewood Fretboard. They didn't stop there, the made it a point to mount the VPS-2 and VJS-29 pickups to the body to gain every bit of harmonic goodness. And they topped it all off with some of the best Bass tuners ever. We've seen them on Grecos before. They are legend.
The nut measures 1.63", neck depth is .87"-.97" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a medium U profile that fills the hand comfortably. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. Barely any fret wear to speak of. Comes safely packed in the vintage gig bag in the photos. 9.35lbs.
There are a few dents, some scuffs, scratches and polishing marks as pictured but it remains in excellent playable condition.
