Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a 1991 Gibson Chet Atkins SST with the original hardshell case and in 100% operational condition. The SST features a solid Mahogany body with a spruce top and an under saddle pickup system designed by LR Baggs. First introduced in 1981, the SST created it's own category; Solid Body Acoustic Electric. And Gibson has remained on top of this category ever since. Killer versatility and playability.
The acoustic sound came from a bridge mounted transducer manufactured by L.R. Baggs for Gibson with a proprietary active pre-amp. The SST had controls for volume as well as boost and cut for both treble and bass signals. The nut measures 1.70", the fret depth is .79"-.95" on a full C profile with scant shoulder so it's easy to get around. The neck is straight and the truss rod works as it should. Great action at 1.25mm at the 12th on the high E, 2mm on the low E. 7.3 lbs. The battery box has been replaced, PC board cleaned, and all pots and connections cleaned. It's ready to roll in the original hardshell case in the photos.
