Northwest Vintage Guitars is very proud to present a rare and uber cool Greco VB700 Violin Bass in fantastic condition. The VB700 was the top of the line violin bass in their 73-74 catalog. Tonewoods include an Ezo Spruce top, Chestnut back and sides, a Maple neck with an Ebony fretboard, amazing abalone inlays and binding, and a hand crafted Ebony bridge. And the tone is amazing on the 30" scale. Only 5.8 lbs.
The nut measures 1.59", neck depth is .88"-.99" on a medium C profile. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. The neck pickup was rewound by Lindy Fralin and Lindy did not disappoint. Throaty and cool. The frets are in great shape exhibiting very little fretwear and are silky smooth to play on freshly polished frets and a new set of American made nickel 45-105 Strings.
There are a few small dings and scratches on the body and neck. There is finish cracking on the top. All pictured.
