Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a very rare and desirable 1970's K Country D42 Style HC2000 with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. The sides are artfully matched solid Brazilian Rosewood construction, the back is one of the most incredible pieces of solid Brazilian Rosewood laminate we've ever laid our eyes upon. Bookmatched Laminate Brazilian Rosewood on both sides. Yes, the back is real solid Brazilian Rosewood - we guarantee it. Smells like Christmas. It's mezmorizing. This was Kasuga's top of the line model and was made in very scarce numbers employing only select non pareil materials. Tonewoods include a solid Sitka Spruce top, an Ebony bridge, and an Ebony fretboard with 3D Abalone markers. The Abalone continues all around the body, binding and fretboard extension. It's an incredible looking and sounding guitar. And it's in great condition.
The original bone nut measures 1.70", neck depth is .89"-1.02" on a true vintage V profile. It feels like it's a lot older than it is. It's about a 25.24" scale and a 12" fretboard radius. We found no cracks or repairs. The factory nut is cut fairly narrow as pictured. Great action at 2.1mm on the low E and 1.6 on the skinniest string. It plays more like an electric. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.
Very comparable to a D42/45. Projects a very deep and even tonality full of warm overtones, like a D42. A joy to experience and play. Comes safely packed in the Hardshell case in the photos. There is some finish clouding as pictured.
