Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a 1964 Kent Las Vegas by Guyatone. This model was made from 1964 to 1965 by Guyatone and featured two "Professional Pickups" just like the models above it like the Lido and the Videocaster. It's a solid body construction and a Rosewood fretboard. Can't exactly tell the type of wood but it looks like a mahogany of some sort. It's documented that some of these were Mahogany. Anyway, all of the electronics work as they should including the pickups. And the sound is pure 60s as you can imagine.
We resurrected the whammy system with a non-original bar. It's not going to pull off dive bombs but you can get away with a little shimmer here and there. She's currently set up for slide with the action at 2.5mm. A neck shim will bring her right down to shredder height. Not a lot of wear on the the freshly polished original frets and no wonkiness to the neck. It's a flat D carve with a 1.73" nut. The first fret measures .94" deep and 1.03" at the 12th. The neck has beefy shoulders with a pronounced flat spot in the center.
