Kodaira guitars are known for their great handmade instruments and top quality materials. Eichi Kodaira is regarded as one of Japan's highest skilled luthiers. His business philosophy was to produce high grade classical guitars and make them available to less wealthy Japanese guitar players at affordable prices. This goal was achieved by using high grade plate laminates instead of solid woods. Solid woods are much harder to work with, easily crack during the production as well as later during regular usage. High grade laminates perform just like solid woods but are easier to work with and don’t crack that easily, hence their use always leads to lower prices of guitars that often sound as good as 3 x more expensive all solid woods” models. During 1980s Eichi was making guitars with his label as well as Asturias guitars, destined mostly for foreign markets.

The top is elegant tight-grained and resonant Solid Spruce. Back and sides are a striking striped rosewood. Action is set at a traditional spec 4.25 mm on the low E, 3.25 mm on the high E. All the notes ring loud and clear up and down the fretboard. The luxurious case pictured is included.
