Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a Masaru Kohno Concert Model Classical guitar from 1987. Masaru Kohno is renowned as one of Japan's best classical luthiers. He apprenticed at Archangel Fernandez's shop in Spain and eventually won a gold medal at at the Elizabeth’s Concourse International Guitar Building Competition in Belgium in 1967, which brought him worldwide recognition. The list of players having recorded and performed on Masaru Kohno’s guitar is substantial, and to name a few, Julian Bream, Oscar Gighlia, and Sharon Isbin. This example is extremely clean and has an incredible voice that's sure to be tops in your collection. All Solid wood construction with a Spruce top, Indian Rosewood sides and back, a Mahogany neck, and an Ebony fretboard.
The nut measures 53mm, neck depth is 21.5mm-24mm at the 1st and 10th frets respectively. It's a flat D profile with ample purchase for the anchor. 650mm Scale, flat radius. Freshly strung with D'Adarrio Pro Arte EJ45 Silver wound strings. The neck is straight and the relief provides optimum playability on 4mm and 3mm action. There are a few scratches, dings, and finish fills as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Comes safely packed in the premium hard case in the photos.
