Northwest Vintage Guitars brings you a one off Concert Classical by Sakazo Nakade. Sakazo Nakade and his brother Rokutaro Nakade apprenticed with violin maker Kinpachi Miyamoto in 1930’s. The Nakade brothers travelled to Spain in the 1950s to learn about guitar making from Ramirez, Hernandez & Aguado. Both were highly regarded as makers of classical guitars in Japan. Rokutaro Nakade died in the early 1970s but Sakazo made guitars until his death in 1993 (aged 87). S akazo's sons Teruaki, Toshihiko and Yukio Nakade joined him in guitar making in the 1970s as did Rokutaro's son Osamu Nakade - all these names may appear on classical guitar labels.
This is labeled an "exclusive" or "secret" build for Masayuki Hirayama in the early 70's and dubbed the "Magic Tricks" model. Solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, solid spruce top. The sound is impressive. Very articulate yet warm with clear and defined bottom end and spectacular definition. We have a LOT of Classical Guitars in the shop and it's in its own class.
There are a few professional cleated crack repairs on the back and top. It's a great playing high end instrument with a very recordable sound that needs nothing. Plays great with the action at 3.5 mm on the low E and 2 mm on the high E.
There are scattered nicks, dings, and scratches as pictured. The back is refinished - this is a result of the crack repairs. There are a few Nitro Lacquer finish fills. The cross braces have dented the sides as pictured but it’s solid as a rock. The frets are in great shape and notes ring clearly. Relief is optimal.
All our guitars are deep cleaned and receive a professional service and setup. You will not get a filthy guitar from us.
