Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to present a spanky and lightweight7.28 pounds 2020 Fender Heritage 50's Telecaster Blackguard. For our money, the Heritage Series is the best new regular production lineup in Fender Japan's catalog. It's a very cool homage to the venerable blackguard with a Nitro Lacquer finish, manageable U neck, and vintage appointments all the way around.
This Heritage Series features a Lightweight Ash body, 3-Saddle vintage-style strings-through-body Tele bridge with Brass Barrel saddles, premium Vintage-Style 50s Single-Coil Tele pickups, 1952 "U" shape Maple neck with a 7.25" radius and Maple fingerboard, Vintage Kluson style tuners, and a modified 4-position blade switch to include both pickups in series. Very sweet vintage tones and we wouldn't change a thing.
The nut measures 1.69", the 1st fret depth is .90", and it's .98" at the 12th on that 52 U carve. It will fill the hand, but it doesn't qualify as a baseball bat. If you like the U carve but find most have too much girth, this could be the answer. the bridge pickup reads 6.48 ohms, the neck measures 7.2 ohms and the series setting bumps up to 13.2. And it's only 7.28 pounds!
Truss rod functions perfectly and it's set up properly with low action and perfect intonation on a fresh set of nickel XL 10's. It's a sweet lightweight player that nails the vintage tones. Comes safely packed in the Fender braded gig bag in the photos. There are a couple large drop fills on the upper bout as pictured, and two nicks in the finish on the edge near the endpin as pictured and a couple dings. It's just getting broke in. Frets are just starting to show some wear and remain at 90%. Two very small finish cracks in the heel as pictured.
