Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a great playing Old Kraftsman 2502 Archtop in Honey Burst from the Kay/Harmony Chicago factory in the 1950's.  The Old Kraftsman label was sold primarily through Spiegel catalogs via mail order.  Like their maker branded brethren, these gems have gained a cult following in recent years due to their combination of old wood, unique tone, and the ultra hip cool factor.   This one is based on the Kay branded 6878 Style Leader.

She received a neck reset, setup, and a fresh set of Phosphor Bronze 12s and she's a great player with great action and room to raise or lower to preference.  It's not perfect as these Kays seldom are, but she's a heck of a lot of fun.  Like that chubby chick you ran around with for a while.  The neck is a thick U-shaped baseball bat. It starts at .98" and grows to 1.08" at the 12th.  Big, round, and comfy with noticeable shoulder all the way up and down the neck. The fretboard edges are naturally rolled from years of use and the brass frets just received a fresh polish. This is an example of an early pre-truss rod era build.  Two steel reinforcement bars are inlaid in the neck under the fingerboard and they do the trick like a charm. Perfect relief, no adjustments necessary.

This comes safely packed in the case in the photos. It's a beater too with bumper stickers and duct tape, but all the hinges and latches work.  Perfect for this guitar.
