Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a super rare spec 1992 Orville by Gibson ES-335 in Walnut stain Lacquer finish and USA TMM90 PAF Pickups. The Orville brand was born out of a partnership between Gibson and Yamano Gakki. Gibson licensed the production of guitars in Japan to quell the pent up demand in the Japanese market where Gibsons were hard to get and difficult to afford. These Terada crafted Orvilles are high quality Gibson products that easily compare to their USA counterparts of the day. Seriously great guitars.
It's a Mahogany one piece neck, Maple body, back and sides, and a bound Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and 21 Vintage spec frets. There's also a ABR-1 style tailpiece and a lightweight tailpiece.
The nut measures 1.69", neck depth is .80"-.91" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a slim C profile with great accessibility. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. Fresh set of 11-52 Nickel strings and perfectly intonated. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. There is moderate wear under the B string but nothing that justifies a level and dress. The knobs are non original Japanese replacements.
