Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a top grade Takamine No 8 Classical Concert model with All solid woods. It features a Solid Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a Mahogany neck with an Ebony fretboard. The frets are in fantastic almost pristine condition. These are a holdover design from Masaru Kohno's tenure of head of production at Takamine in the 60's and 70's. His influence is easy to see in the traditional Spanish design and construction.
The nut measures 50mm, neck depth is 20mm-25mm at the 1st and 10th frets respectively. It's a classical D profile with plenty of room for the thumb to find purchase. 650mm scale, flat radius, 6.69 lbs. Freshly strung with D'Adarrio Pro Arte EJ45-3d Normal tension strings. The neck is straight and the relief is stable and at a point for optimum playability. We fashioned a new nut, glued a loose brace under the saddle. Action is at 4.5mm on the low E and 4.0mm high E. Notes ring loud and clear. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the case in the photos.
There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.
