Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a monster top 1979 Tokai LS-80 Les Paul Reborn with a Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish and killer PAF style Humbuckers. It's quite simply the best top we've seen on these early models. It's got everything the Gibsons have; a solid Mahogany body, two piece figured and flamed maple top, a Rosewood fretboard, and even better PAF style humbuckers than the big boys were using at the time. She has a wonderfully executed professional headstock repair with a great paint match. We also took the liberty to give it a pro re-fret with Jescar FL51108 Nickel frets, a perfect level and crown, and polished to a mirror-like shine. It plays flawlessly and sounds incredible.
The nut measures 1.7", neck depth is .90"-.94" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a fantastic V2 style 59 C profile that feels like a custom shop. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. 24.75" scale, 10" radius, 10.3 lbs. The pickups read 7.94 ohms at the bridge, 7.62 ohms at the neck. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or buzzing. Comes safely packed in the vintage Lifton style case with the Tokai badge and all working latches and hinges.
