Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a Bass Maniac Standard by Tune Guitar Technologies in Japan. TGT wasn't a prolific manufacturer cranking out millions of pieces. They made smaller batches of well designed and ergonomic basses and guitars with top notch materials and a high level of craftsmanship. Take this PJ Bass for example; lightweight bold grain Sen Ash body, Rock Maple neck, and a thick slab Rosewood fretboard. The high ratio Gotoh tuners lock everything down and the passive proprietary pickups deliver tone in bucketloads. And it weighs only 7.45 lbs.
It's a very light and well balanced bass that feels like a much more expensive bass when it's in your hands. The nut measures 1.52", 34" scale, and the fret depth is .83"-.90" on an oval C profile that offers great access. 1V, 2T, 1 Balance. The neck is straight with no wonkiness and the truss rod works exactly as it should. She is wearing a fresh set of nickel 45-105 and polished frets in fantastic condition with no divots and most of their life left ahead of them. There are a few scattered dents and dings, but nothing on her face and the neck has no big digs. Really a great player that won't disappoint. Comes safely packed in the Gig Bag in the photos.
