Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a restored 1956 Gretsch New Yorker with a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and all solid woods construction. Our Luthier performed a professional neck reset, full fret level and dress, and fitted a new bridge top for a perfect setup. These wonderful archtops feature a carved Spruce top, Maple back and sides, and a Mahogany neck. We know some have different woods, but this is Spruce, Maple, and Mahogany with a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. The frets are original and have a lot of life left.
The nut measures 1.65", neck depth is .90"-1.2" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a full flat D neck profile. 25" scale, 12" radius, 5.07 lbs. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with 11-50 nickel flatwound strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Comes safely packed in the heavily padded gig bag in the photos. Strap button, bridge, saddle, and tuner buttons are not original. There are two cracked frets way up high on the fretboard that are barely noticeable and near impossible to play on way up there.
