It includes the original Yamaha owner's manual, tool kit, warranty card, retailers registration, and the original reissued anniversary hard case with the Samsonite style luggage handle and sleek aluminium molding just like back in the 60's. It's the complete package.
This is a wild and very different playing experience much akin to a Jazzmaster but with a very unique floating bridge. Yamaha used a unique design incorporating a couple springs and the sympathetic overtones are bold and present. Old growth Katsura wood was sourced for the body, maple for the neck, and an Indian Rosewood fretboard rounds out the compliment of select materials.
The nut measures 1.6", 1st fret depth is .81", .84" at the 12th on a Oval C carve. Very very little wear on the frets with no significant divots or wear spots. The neck pickup reads 9.7 ohms, 10.1 at the bridge. One coil of the bridge pickup has been repaired by Lindy Fralin and it works like a charm. Yamaha went all out with the gold plating on all the hardware and all the controls work as they should. The tremolo arm is non original but fully functional. It's been freshly strung with XL Nickel 10's and the relief set for optimum playability by adjusting the perfectly functioning truss rod with the provided adjustment tool.
It's a fantastic and inspiring playing experience that is sure to cause a wellspring of innovative new ideas. Play close to the bridge and hear the overtones light up behind the bridge, or play behind the bridge to create a whole new effect. It resonates well in A minor and E minor with haunting overtones. Comes safely packed with the case candy and tools in the photos.
