Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a super clean 1967 Yamaha AE-11 Hollowbody Archtop Jazz Box in excellent original condition.  The AE-11 was Yamaha's Top of the line guitar of the day with a Spruce top, Maple sides and back, and the killer early Yamaha Humbuckers that don't disappoint.  The AE-11 is often compared to the Gibson ES-175, but it's actually bigger and more ornate with multi-layered binding all the way around - even the fretboard.  It's a little under 17" wide, 3.4" thick, and sports a 24.75" scale.  The early Yamaha tuners are in fantastic shape and they are as solid as a tank.  Everything is here; the knob toppers, the tuner backs, and even the pickguard.  It's the complete package at only 6.65 lbs.

The nut measures 1.67", neck depth is .88"-1.00" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  It's a full C profile that's not a fat 50's C, it has scant shoulders all the way up the neck and offers excellent accessibility.  Unlike many early Japanese builds, this one has really nice frets with a .095" width and an average height of .038" .  It plays easily and effortlessly on low action, polished frets, and a fresh set of flatwounds.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.  There are a few faint scratches, dings, and dents as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.
