Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare Yamaha FG180 50th Anniversary model Made in Japan in 2016. The FG180 Red Label started it all in the 60's as the flagship model in Yamaha's acoustic lineup. They are highly regarded for their excellent design, rugged construction and unique tone. We had this one in the shop for a neck reset and it was a challenge as these Red Labels are known to be. We got her done and it plays fantastic.
The nut measures 1.74", neck depth is .88"-.97" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a V profile that feels great. 25" scale, 14" radius, 4.24 lbs. Action is at a perfect 5/64" and 4/64" factory spec. Freshly strung with D'Adarrio 12-53 Bronze strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Comes safely packed in the hard case in the photos.
