Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a honey of a 1969 Yamaha Red Label FG500 with a hard shell case and a ton of lightweight resonance.  It's a toneful example with a big acoustic resonance that rings and blooms.  These early Red Label guitars are known for their expert build quality, light bracing, and durable nature.  This one featured a Soft V neck profile, a solid Spruce top, and non-original vintage Grover tuners.  And it comes safely packed in the Yamaha Hard Case with the groovy yellow lining.  Can you dig it?

The nut measures 1.75", neck depth is .84"-1.01 at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  True vintage neck dimensions, not the skinny nuts we're used to seeing from Vintage Japan Acoustics.  25" scale, 14" radius, and only 4.72 lbs.  The action is at 6/64" and 5/64" and the saddle is at 3/64.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.  There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.

There is a previously repaired top crack, a bridge plate overlay repair, re-glued top braces, and the nut is low but very playable.  It has it's share of dings, dents and patina, but it's a great sounding instrument that everyone in the shop took turns on and reveled in it's tone.
