The SA2000S was Yamahas top tier answer to Gibsons venerable ES335 and it was every bit up to the task with its wide tonal range, excellent playability, and dynamic pickups. They went one step further and featured an Ebony Fretboard, and fancy inlays. The pickups are Yamaha's SA2000 proprietary pickups and they sound great.
Yamaha used a rigid selection process to procure the Select Spruce, Birch and Beech for the bodies and Mahogany for the neck. Expert design and superior craftmanship yield a high end tone monster that holds it\'s own against the best in the business. Excellent playability and sustain. 2 Volumes and 2 tones, 14" radius, 8.9 lbs. The 24.75 inch scale is .86 inch deep at the first and .99 at the 12th. C Carve neck. The truss rod turns easily and adjusted for optimal playability. There is some clouding under the finish in some places as pictured. There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing.
This guitar received a fret level and polish, a full pro setup and new D'Addario XL 11-49 nickel strings perfectly intonated.
