Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a Gold Paisley Telecaster with genuine vintage Fender parts and a custom lightweight body. We call it the "Time Machine". The neck is a genuine 1973 Fender Telecaster neck with a Rosewood board and zero miles on a fresh pro refret with proper vintage spec wire. It sets up and plays perfectly with no issues on a 7.25" radius. The lightweight body is of unknown origin and is suspected to be Basswood. "Main St Vintage Guitars, Tupelo MS," is written in the bridge pickup route. It plays flawlessly with a fresh pro refret with .094" wide vintage spec frets. And it's only 6.47 lbs.
The nut measures 1.62", neck depth is .86"-.95" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a full C profile that fits the hand like a glove. 25.5" scale, 7.25" radius. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. The 1974 Fender Bridge pickup reads 5.9 ohms, the unknown potted neck pickup reads 5.09 ohms. The neck pickup has a thin black bobbin and white and blue cloth wires like some earlier Tele's, but we can't be sure. The bridge sounds like a Tele, the neck is much darker and warmer with more body than a typical Tele. The Pots, switch, control plate, one knob, and bridge plate are from 1968 with the pot codes 17th week of 1966. The saddles appear to be correct for 1968. The neck plate is a 1973, and the neck dates to 1973. Herb Gastelum stamped on the neck.
The finish on the back of the neck and headstock has been finished to a sleek satin. There are areas on the headstock where the finish is gone. The headstock face is refinished with Nitro, the Repro Decal is on top of the clear coat. There are imperfections in the finish as pictured. An excellent playing guitar and it only weighs 6.47lbs and comes safely packed in the vintage tolex case in the photos.
