Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a well loved 1974 K Yairi YW-500P Dreadnought with a solid Spruce top and a 2 piece Rosewood back. Tons of mojo and patina on this baby. It's like an old pair of jeans - So comfortable and experienced. The sound has opened up nicely on this one. It projects well and sounds like, well, like a Martin of the era. The laminate Rosewood 3 piece back gives it a bold voice. The Ebony fretboard and bridge offer a touch of class. Really hard to beat at this price.
The nut measures 1.725", neck depth is .95"-1.13" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a V profile that feels like an old Martin. 25" scale, 12" radius, 4.45 lbs. Freshly strung with D'Adarrio 12-53 Bronze acoustic strings and professionally set up with factory spec action at 5/64"-4/64" and ample saddle height. The bridge was removed and shaved a tad, the frets were leveled, dressed and polished. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are scratches and dings as pictured. Th binding is delaminating in placed but it's been shored up and it's solid. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the hard case in the photos.
