Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare tribute to the Martin D76 Centennail model in this Nashville Musical Instruments model N-1200.  It features all solid wood construction with a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard and a Mahogany one piece neck.  It's a fantastic sounding and playing guitar with a repaired neck crack. 

In the 1970's, Richard Cromwell owned Nashville Musical Instrument Co located on Broadway in Nashville just a couple blocks from Gruhn's Guitars.  NMI was a distributor and wholesaler for dealers and retailers in the Southeastern US.  Richard contracted with a Japanese luthiers to copy the Martin models of the day.  This one is the Martin D76.  No confirmable info on the manufacturer, but Moridaira and Kayashi have been suspected.   The rarity of these Martin copies can in part be attributed to the court ordered confiscation and destruction of many of these examples in the USA.  The culling was a result of a 1978 trademark lawsuit that eventually nudged NMI into closing it's doors in 1980.  

The nut measures 1.80", neck depth is .90"-1.0" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  It's a healthy V carve that feels great in the hand.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.  She has a set of Phosphor Bronze 12's and the action is 2.7 mm on the low E and 1.5 mm on the high E with good saddle height and proper breakover angle.  It's an easy player that's balanced and articulate with a firm low end.  

It arrived to us with a repaired neck crack and fretboard separation.   The glue up was solid as a rock, but not level.  We leveled it, color filled the area and polished it out.  It can be felt slighly on the bass side but it's solid and
