Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to present a 2000 Yamaha Blue Jeans Professional BJ-BKS in Black Sparkle with the original hardshell case and 100% original condition.  This Yamaha MIJ model Blue Jeans Pro was introduced in 2000 and has gained a huge cult following over the decades.  This was Yamahas thrice warmed over version of the venerable Flying Samurai and gained much fame as once being played by Jimi Hendrix.

The Blue Jeans Professional model features a solid Alder body, maple neck, and Yamaha's own special design single coil pickups.  The bridge clocks in at 7.91 ohms while the neck tallys 8.01 ohms.  And such fantastic pickups they are.  Not a Gibson, not a Fender, but something altogether new but faintly familiar.  The clarity is fantastic and they're dynamic as well with Tele bridge overtones at times, but more compressed and sophisticated.  Pour the beans to her and the wonderful P90-esque breakup is rounded off with a smoother tonal profile.  It's a unique experience if you've been playing a lot of american made guitars.

The nut measures 1.59", 1st fret depth is .84" and .93" at the 12th.  It's a D carve but very svelty and manageable even for small hands.  The frets are in very good shape and have a fresh polish allowing it to play cleanly up and down the fretboard with no dead spots.  Only minor divoting beginning under the B string but nowhere near needing a dress.

She weighs 8.92 lbs and comes safely packed in the original Yamaha badged hard case in the photos.
