Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a lovely lawsuit Les Paul Custom from 1973 with Maxon Alnico pickups that really steal the show. It's a sandwiched mahogany body with chambers and it only weighs 8.7 lbs. Light for a lawsuit. The Maxon Manaflux pickups read in the 7.6 ohm range and do everything a PAF type humbucker should do. It's all original sans the modern replacement knobs.
The Gaban brand is one of the rarest lawsuit Les Pauls only being produced for less than 3 years from 1972-1974. These are believed to be manufactured by Kasuga or Matsumoku in Matsumoto for Fukuhara Gakki Corp and distributed to retailers in Japan. The Gaban brand appears in Tokai catalogs in the 70's.
The nut measures 1.70", neck depth is .82"-.97" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's your typical 70's medium C with little shoulder and great access. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.
There are polishing marks, scratches, and dings as pictured. It remains in great playable condition with freshly leveled, crowned and polished frets. There is a shim under the nut. Comes safely packed in the great premium hardshell case in the photos.
