Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare and beautiful Gibson Custom Shop ES-339 in Cherry. It's a 335 in a managable size and featuring all the great tone. This one is fitted with the original '57 Classic in the bridge position and a Seymour Duncan P-90 Phat Cat in humbucker size. It's a great combo and having the full bodied tone of a P-90 in the neck is such a treat. This was a short run of Custom Shop guitars that were initially built in Memphis then sent to Nashville for finishing and setup in the Custom Shop where they received the Custom Shop decal on the back of the neck. The label says Memphis, but Gibson recognizes it as a Nashville Custom Shop when you run the serial number through the Gibson decoder. Comes safely packed in the original case and the Custom Shop COA as pictured.
The nut measures 1.71", neck depth is .84"-.94" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a very cool custom D profile that you may just fall in love with - I know we have. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with D;Addario 10-46 XL Nickel strings and low factory spec 1.75mm-1.25mm action. The frets are clean and the fretboard is cleaned and conditioned. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
